Learning Outcomes
The aim of the module is to preliminarily approach the basic principles of Management, to describe the theoretical basis of the Management functions and define the activities and roles of executives in the dynamically evolving environment of the organisations.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Basic terms-definitions, importance of Management at all levels of economic and social life and the conduct of business activities. The dynamics of the contemporary business environment (internal and external) with emphasis on the problems and challenges faced by the Management of Greek companies. The scientific basis of Management: Development of Management as a science – approaches – schools of thought – modern developments. Management as a system of the functions of Planning, Organisation, Administration and Control. Executives – Managers: Analysis of their roles, tasks, job nature and responsibilities. Capabilities, skills, competitive characteristics that executives and managers must have. Elaboration of Case Studies during the seminars.
