Learning Outcomes
Earth contruction models. Practical applications of electromagnetic wave propagation, such as Earth mapping. Geomagnetic fields knowlegde. Calculation os Earths apparent resistivity. Geophysical prospecting.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Electrical properties of the earth materials. Methods for the calculation of the apparent resistivity of the earth, in single or multilayer models (electrical well logging, induction methods, Galvanic methods etc.). Magnetotelluric theory. Wave propagation through the earth. Scattering of buried targets. Applications in geophysical prospecting. Radio - wave methods.
