Learning Outcomes
Upon succesful completion of the course, each student will have become familiar with:
Making a first complete design of costumes and confronting the issues of design implementation.
Developing proposals of costumes’ designs regarding a theatrical play and a short story for a film adaptation. Through research of period, character analysis and exploration of visual intentions, students deal with issues of costume design and its implementation both for a period piece as well as a modern one.
The implementation of costume design through visits in sewing workshops and theatrical wardrobes.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Through lectures and exercises students prepare a first complete design of costumes and confront the issues of design implementation. They develop proposals of costumes’ designs regarding a theatrical play and a short story for a film adaptation. Through research of period, character analysis and exploration of visual intentions, students deal with issues of costume design and its implementation both for a period piece as well as a modern one. Finally they gain an experience in the implementation process through visits in sewing workshops and theatrical wardrobes.
