•Familiarization with the social psychology object and methods along with the levels of analysis of socio-psychological phenomena •Knowledge of the processes involved in social groups formation. •Knowledge of the basic processes of social influence and intergroup relations •Familiarization with the study of social psychology scientific literature •Comprehension of the relation between theory and research and familiarization with research

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course is an introduction to the main concepts of social psychology. During the courses students attend two hour theoretical lectures that focus on: • object and levels of analysis of Social Psychology • history of social psychology • methods of research of social psychology • intragroup phenomena: compliance, obedience to authority, social influence, minority influence, group polarization • intergoup relations - Prejudice: realistic conflict, social deprivation, social identity theory, self-categorisation theory, crowd theories Students also attend two hour seminars per week during which they a) study, discuss and present social psychology articles and b) come in touch with a variety of research methods used by social psychology

Students' evaluation takes place at the end of the semester with written exams that consist of discussion of current social issues based on theory.
