Learning Outcomes
During the course the student will learn about neuromuscular diseases and their consequences, as well as the effect of exercise on the patients' daily quality of life. Special attention is drawn for the contraindications of exercise in some diseases. Contents 1. Introduction to the neuromuscular system 2. Basic principles of exercise 3. Description of neuromuscular diseases 4. Exercise and stroke / paralysis / central nervous system injury, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy 5. Hydrotherapy and neuromuscular diseases Laboratory training in: 1. Kinesthetics 2. Electrical stimulation 3. Mental training 4. Strength training 5. Principles of motor learning

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course objectives are: - to understand the function of the neuromuscular system. - to know some common neuromuscular diseases. - to learn what kind of exercise is appropriate for each neuromuscular disease. - to stimulate the students for more specialization and training in a specific neuromuscular disease.
