Course Content (Syllabus)
1A. Principles of kinesiology - Muscle palpation technques 1B. Principles of therapeutic exercise. 2. Palpation of cervical muscles - basic movements of the head and the cervical spinal cord 3A. Palpation of the scapula muscles - Basic movements of the scapula 3B. Types of stretch - Stretching programs 4. Palpation of thoracic muscles - Combined movement of head, the neck and the shoulder 5α. Basic movements of the shoulder - Palpation of the shoulder muscles – The rotator cuff. 5β. Exercise for correcting postural imbalances 6. Basic movements and palpation of the elbow and wrist muscles 7α. Palpation of the trunk and pelvic muscles - Basic movements of the trunk and pelvis. 7β. Core stability programs 8α. Basic exercises for strengthening the trunk muscles. 8β. Programs of stability and mobility of the trunk 9. Palpation of the thigh and pelvic muscles - hip and knee joint movements. 10α. Basic exercises for strengthening the hip and the knee. Bi-articular muscles. 10β. Target-Specific exercise programs 11α. Palpation of tibia and ankle joint muscles - Exercises for strengthening ankle musculature. 11β. Target - specific exercise programs 12. Complex exercises for strengthening lower limb muscles- bi-articularity 13. Palpation of plantar muscles- Foot movements - Combined whole- body exercises

Final practical exam. Students are examined into groups of 4. Assessment criteria 1. Paplation of muscles, description of muscle action and display of a muscle-specific exercise 2. Explanation and display of joint movements 3. Design and application of specific exercise program based on principles of kinesiology 4.
