General Prerequisites
1. Very good knowledge of the Italian language.
2. Acqaintance with the basic principles of narratology.
Learning Outcomes
The main goal is to make students comppetent readers of contemporary Italian literature through their familiarity with the history and texts. A further aim is to acquaint students with literary language and writing, and therefore a large part of the modern Italian culture.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Brief overview of major literary movements in Italian prose and poetry of the 20th century. Anthology, textual analysis and interpretative approach of some of the most important Italian and European writers of the 20th century.
