Learning Outcomes
Cognitive: Provision to the students of the essential knowledge as to how plants are structured (anatomy of various plant organs). This knowledge is necessary for the study of other fields of biology, like Physiology, Biochemistry, Systematics, Development, Genetics, etc. Skills: Ability in the use of the light microscope for making observations on sections of plant organs.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Organization of the plant body. The stem: morphology, primary and secondary structure, branching, modifications. The leaf: morphology, structure, abscission, growth, modifications. The root: morphology, primary and secondary structure, branching, modifications. The flower: morphology, development, structure, pollination, fertilization. The fruit: types, development, structure. The seed: morphology, structure, formation of the embryo and endosperm, seed dispersal and germination.
