Learning Outcomes
Student get a spherical acquaintance on the topic of nanomagnetism and current trends in magnetic nanostructures both from fundamental and applicability point of view. This module addresses the recent developments on magnetic nanostructures and consists of the following sections: Ferromagnetism: In this introductory section, basic background knowledge on magnetic nanostructures and nanotechnology is given. Techniques: In this section, techniques for synthesis and characterization of magnetic nanostructures are described. Case studies: In this major section three case studies of magnetic nanostructures (From one to three nanodimensions) are described both from synthesis, structure and magnetic point of view. a). Magnetic multilayes b) Ordered Magnetic Nanostructures c) Magnetic Nanoparticles. The last section of this module applications schemes of magnetic nanostructures are given focusing on current trends and needs (a). permanent magnets, b). magnetic recording c). biomedical magnetic carriers.
