Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: a) Analyze communication systems with band-limited channels b) Design optimal detectors for partial response signals c) Design transmission and reception filters for communication systems with band-limited channels.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Band-limited signals and stochastic processes, digital transmission through band-limited channels, signal design for band-limited channels and zero ISI - Nyquist criterion, design of partial response signals, ML detection of partial response signals, transmission and reception filter design for known channels, channel equalization, linear equalizers, adaptive equalizers.
