Learning Outcomes
After the successful consumation of the lecture, the students: 1. would have studied at once in the field the geological structure and development of the Hellenides, after their theoretical presentation during the lectures and they will be able to compare the geoloegical structure and evolution of Hellenides with that of other equivalente, neighbouring orogenic belts. 2. will be exercised in the recognition of the main geological formations of the Hellenides and they will be informed about their posible economical significance. 3. will know at once in the field the problems and the basic principles for the constuction of great tchnical-geological buildings.

Course Content (Syllabus)
NE-SW directed geological cross-section through the Hellenides in Northern Greece, recognition-learning of teh geotectonic zones Of Hellenides (composition, structure, evolutio) and their geotectonic signioficance. Learning of great tchnical-geological constuctions (dams, tunels, road building), landslids....
