Learning Outcomes
The students are expected to learn about: • the mineral raw materials which are useful in industry and in the construction of high technology products • the matters relating to the prediction, exploration, evaluation, extraction, exploitation and distribution of the mineral wealth of a country • the methods and the stages of exploration of ore deposits

Course Content (Syllabus)
Mineral resources. Methods and stages of the mineral deposits exploration and research. Geological methods of ore deposits exploration. Geochemical methods for exploration of mineral resources. Geochemical anomalies. Stable isotopes in ore-forming hydrothermal systems (O, H, C, S). Using fluid inclusion data in mineral exploration. Uses of seismic, gravitational, magnetic, electrical and electromagnetic methods to measure the physical properties of rocks, and in particular to detect the measurable physical differences between rocks that contain ore deposits.
