Course Content (Syllabus)
Wireless Communications Part 1 (2 Hours): Introduction to the wireless broadband communications. Part 2 (3 Hours): OFDM and OFDMA technology. Part 3 (4 Hours): Long Term Evolution (LTE) and Wi-MAX Part 4 (3 Hours): IMT Advanced (4G) Optical Communications Part 1 (2 Hours): Introduction to optical communications Part 2 (4 Hours): Optical Fibers (Propagation, Types and characteristics, Optical signal degradation - Attenuation - Dispersion - Non linear phenomena, connections) - Optical Cables Part 3 (1 Hour): Passive elements, Optical sources - Photodetectors (optical receivers) Part 4 (1 Hour): Repeaters - Optical amplifiers Part 5 (1 Hour): Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) Part 6 (3 Hours): Optical fiber networks (broadband applications and their specifications) - Optical Communication System Design.
