Course Content (Syllabus)
Molecular Biology: Introduction, Organization of genetic information, Structure of genomes, genome organisation. Copy of DNA and RNA genomes. Transcription in the prokaryotic and eykaryotic cells. Translation of genetic information. Cloning in plasmids and bacteriophages. Manufacture of genomes and DNA libraries. Applications of Genetic Mechanics in animals, plants and health. Laboratorial familiarization with techniques of isolation and segregation of nucleic acids, digestion with restrictive endonucleases and incorporation in plasmids hosts. Transformation of bacteria. Laboratorial familiarization and experiments.
