General Prerequisites
It is necessary that students have finished their obligations with the basic course titled Biomechanics (code 229) in order to know the mechanical principles of motion. In addition, basic and functional anatomy is necessary, as well as human body physiology. These additional prerequisites are also prerequisites in order to attend the basic course of biomechanics, as well.
Learning Outcomes
Students learn how to analyze sports technique within the frame of its descriptive - analytic model, under the perspective of the relationship: cause-effect. This will help to become better Phys.Ed. instructors-teachers and coaches.

Course Content (Syllabus)
It is an elective course of 2 hours per week that necessary for students specializing in competitive sports. It’s purpose is, student to acquire necessary knowledge in order to study sports movement (training and competition) under the perspective of cause- effect, to get experience on measurement and evaluation of performance, and be able to analyze movement. Student’s evaluation is based on experimental project that is designed and run by groups of 3-4 students, during the course. Contents: Descriptive - Analytic model of sport movement Defining the relationship cause-effect in performance of sports movement Measurements and evaluation of kinematic parameters of motion Measurements and evaluation of dynamic parameters of motion Evaluation of measurement’s results in relation to performance Field tests and comparison with laboratory measurements Sport technique Analysis of sport technique and correlation of result to the analytic model Technique comparison between different athletes Design and organization of Project Data collection for the project Data analysis Presentation of project

Description
Students are obliged to run their first data analysis with Excel (MS Office). Then, they have to learn how to use a commercial special software for qualitative video-analysis of games. Data collection, reduction and analysis takes place within the lab, where all electronic apparatuses are controlled ON LINE by computers with commercial software, such as LabView and MAtlab, as well as with in house build software. In addition they have to search bibliography through the Internet, and they have to prepare and present their projects with multimedia.
