Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will : 1. recognize the basic types of greenhouses and the design requirements according to Eurocodes. 2. become aware of their environmental parameters in order to be able to intervene ensuring an appropriate internal environment.

Course Content (Syllabus)
General principles. Types of greenhouses. Loads. Eurocode use. Roof slope. Foundations. Materials of frame- coverage and their properties. Analysis of environmental parameters. Laws convection. Greenhouse effect. Humidity, ventilation, enrichment with CO2, lighting, cooling. Environmental control systems (heating, cooling, etc.). Use mild sources of energy for heating greenhouses.
