Course Content (Syllabus)
Biotechnology and generation of productive animals with improved yield of products. Animal cloning for the production of human substances and transplants. Reproductive cloning in humans. Generation of super athletes. Applications of biotechnology in disease diagnosis in plants animals and humans. Aseptic culture and micropropagation of plants. The haploid technology. Biotechnology and genetically modified plants with improved yield. Generation of plants with resistance to infections and low temperatures. Somatic hybridization in plants and applications. Transgenic plants as bioreactors for the production of medicines. Trangenic plants and animals and biotechnological food products. Bioreactors. Types of bioreactors. The future of biotechnology. Bioethical issues in biotechnology.
