Course Content (Syllabus)
Art in early childhood and children’s spontaneous artistic expression is understood.
Students become aware of various strategies for encouraging children’s artistic expression through their contact with simple and ‘useless’ materials. They practice observation as a way for the development of visual perception and the activation of imagination. Immersion in composing and creating hands on art activities enhances students’ understanding of the importance of process in art to reach to a product pleasing to the creator. The educator’s own artistic development goes along understanding the teacher’s role for guiding children’s artistic development.
