Knowledge and experience of computer aided designing antennas and microwave circuits. Knowledge and experience on issues and methods for prediction of large scale power coverage from base station-antennas of mobile telecommunication networks. Knowledge and experience of measurements of: EMC, satellite and terrestrial communication systems and microwave devices
Course Content (Syllabus)
Section 1 (16 Hours): Antenna CAD Laboratory
- Synthesis and simulation of antenna arrays for AM and FM radiocommunication systems
- Synthesis and simulation of antennas for mobile communication networks. Large scale cell coverage estimation
- Synthesis and simulation of microstrip antennas for fixed and mobile stations
- Synthesis and simulation of broadband antennas
Section 2 (8 Hours): CAD Laboratory of microwave circuits
- Synthesis and simulation of microstrip circuits: filters, directional couplers, power divider, hybrid rings, amplifiers.
Section 3 (16 Ώρες): Laboratory Experiments
- Scattering parameters measurement of RF circuits with a vector network analyzer (VNA)
- Satellite communications – Power density measurements in the FM, VHF, UHF bands
- Experiments with waveguides operating in the frequency band 8-12GHz (X-band)
- EMC measurements
