Course Content (Syllabus)
Monte Carlo simulation techniques for problems in solid-state physics. Theory of the simulation method. Treatment of two problems: (1) Diffusion (2) Ising model. Construction of statistical distributions of various properties. Numerical calculations of several relations in the above two problems for various cases, e.g. various temperatures, initial conditions, system dimension, etc. Comparison with analytical laws. Random number generators. A computing language is prerequisite.
