Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to
• be acquainted with the principles, theories and practices of community work in the field of mental health
• be familiar with clinical work in community and in-patient mental health services, that are addressed to persons with severe mental disorders
• understand the processes of designing, organising and evaluating community services for the prevention and treatment of mental health problems
• understand the way that mental health services operate as well as the role of psychologists within them
• have developed skills for the analysis and evaluation of community services and interventions in the field of mental health

Course Content (Syllabus)
This is a seminar-based course, through which students are introduced to clinical work in community and in-patient mental health services, that are addressed mainly to persons with severe mental disorders. Through the course, students will be acquainted with the principles of community work in the field of mental health and in planning, organization and evaluation of community services for prevention and treatment of mental disorders. Through visits to mental health services and discussions with the psychologists who work there, students will also understand the way that mental health services operate as well as the role of psychologists within them.
