General Prerequisites
For the most beneficial course attendance it is recommended, but not required, that participants have basic knowledge of Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Animal Physiology I and II.
Learning Outcomes
Cognitive: Introduction to the main biochemical and molecular processes in the health and disease of human organisms, Applicaion of Biochemistry in clinical and molecular diagnostics, Diagnostic procedures, Biomarkers, Quality Assurance and its importance Skills: Design and application of the appropriate diagnostic procedures, Analytical errors and results amendment.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Basic operation principles of a modern diagnostic lab and interpretation of the tests results - Quality assurance, purification and analysis methods, sampling and preservation of biological speciments. Modern analytical technoques, automated analyzers, instrumental analysis, immunological methods, genetic diagnosis. Laboratory test of proteins, amino acids, carbohydrates, lipids, enzymes. Evaluation of myocardial infarction, cardiovascular and liver function (cirrhosis, jaundice) risk assesment.
