Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
• Become familiar with the various collections of the Holy Canons.
• Understand the importance of possessing scientific, theological, linguistic, historical and other knowledge to study canonical texts.
• Apply the principles of canonical hermeneutics.
• Analyse and evaluate the interpretations of the Holy Canons by scholars.
• To make the interpretative distinction between exactitude (ακρίβεια) and dispensation (οικονομία) and to deepen the relevance of the Canons. ?
• Recognise canonical issues and examine specific themes relating to dogmatic, pastoral and hermeneutic questions.
