Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction to insect ecology, diversification and biodiversity. Photoperiodism and Biological rhythms, Chemical ecology, Natural enemies and biological control, Insect herbivores, Insects and climate, Insect herbivores, Insects and climate, Biodiversity and insect conservation, Evolutionary ecology.Behavioural ecology and social insects, Physiological ecology (development and diapause), Ιnsect communication and interactions of insects with other organisms (mutualisms, symbiosis, competition, predation, parasitism), interactions with plants and agroecology, food webs and community ecology, population ecology, climate change and biological invasions.
