Course Content (Syllabus)
Machining of metals by material removal. Basic cutting processes (turning, milling). Tool wear and tool life. Calculation of cutting force and measurement of its components. Machinability of workpiece materials. Cutting tool materials and standardizations. Gear cutting. Gear hobbing, gear shaping, rack-type shaping, gear shaving, gear grinding, and metrological inspection of gears.
