General Prerequisites
Attendance and performance in this course presuppose basic legal knowledge that students acquire during their undergraduate studies in law or, at least, in the context of their undergraduate studies in subjects with a normative dimension (e.g. moral philosophy, political theory, theology, etc.).
Learning Outcomes
The course aims to consolidate and sharpen students' ability to understand the continuity and coherence between philosophical conceptions of law with specific methodologies and techniques in understanding and applying the law in individual cases and to apply specific techniques and methods of practical reasoning in law, ethics, politics, especially through reduction to abstract practical principles.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course is divided into two parts: a) on the one hand, it highlights the methodological consequences of developments in the philosophy of law from the 19th century to the present and to demonstrate the superiority of systematic telological interpretation and b) on the other hand, it presents exemplary issues of the application of these methods in various institutional fields, such as the application of social ethics in law, the protection of the environment, the freedom of art, etc.

Description
The course and exams are conducted via the online zoom platform in case face-to-face teaching is not possible. Electronic communication via the e-learning application is used to communicate with students and to provide them with literature and course material.
