Learning Outcomes
Induction and understanding of the basic concepts, rights and legal relations of the law of property, especially in relation to the cadastral law, in order to familiarize non-legal students with them and to deepen their understanding. To facilitate the gradual transition from property law to cadastral law. To develop the ability to identify and understand the main interpretative issues arising from the gradual transition from the system of transfers and mortgages to the cadastre. Introduction of the principles and appropriate interpretative methods for resolving the resulting issues.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The subject of this introductory course taught in the first semester is the basic concepts, rights and legal relations of the law of property, especially in relation to the corresponding law of the cadastre. The aim is to establish the basic terms of the law of property in rem and special property law, such as mortgage, servitude, usufruct, horizontal and vertical ownership, usufruct; the basic principles of property law, such as the principle of publicity; the remedies of property law, such as actions in rem, negative actions, actions of usufruct. Always in the light of recent Greek case law, both of the substantive courts and of the Supreme Court.
