Learning Outcomes
The epidemiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment of vascular injuries are taught. Regarding the vascular injury treatment, emphasis is placed on the teaching of therapeutic algorithms and, despite the great variety and atypia of vascular injuries, the basic principles of their operative treatment. The PMS graduates should be able to support the oligemic polytrauma patient, to timely diagnose subacute traumatic vascular injuries and to treat the basic vascular trauma situations.

Course Content (Syllabus)
• ATLS I Basic Principles • ATLS II Basic Principles • The musculoskeletal and nerve injuries of the vascular trauma • Hand trauma surgery • Limb re-attachment • Trauma of cervical vessels - subclavian artery • Thoracic vascular trauma • Abdominal vascular trauma • Basic principles and techniques of vascular trauma repair • Iatrogenic vascular trauma • Vascular injuries of the extremities I (vascular injuries of the upper and lower extremities) • Vascular injuries of extremities II (trauma in drug addicted patients, infection of vascular prosthesis)
