| Description | Receive of the international academic award «Most Effective Teaching Application» upon the "Simcyp Academic Awards 2019" during the annual meeting of the SimCyp consortium members hold on September 18th, 2019 at Sheffield, UK. The international Simcyp consortium consists of 36 biopharmaceutical companies, with the top 10 pharmas globally to be members, and more than 100 research institutes and academic centers that are assessed by the consortium annually as centers of excellence in drug development. The academic award was given as the “winner 2019” in recognition of outstanding teaching in the field of INVIVE, ADME, Pharmaceutics, Biologics, Safety Pharmacology, Systems Pharmacology, and Modeling and Simulation. Specifically, the award reflects the evaluation of the innovative educational program developed through the successful integration of the SimCyp population pharmacokinetics platform, towards enhancing the scientific knowledge and the practical skills of undergraduate and postgraduate Pharmacy students. The innovative program has been developed and implemented in the Pharmacy School, Faculty of Health Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in the undergraduate curriculum for the 4th-year students in the course "Clinical Pharmacokinetics" and in the postgraduate program "Industrial Pharmacy" of the same department. Previously, this educational program at an early phase, had been applied in the postgraduate program "Pharmacology & Therapeutics" and in the course "Drug Interactions", in the same School. The constructive nature of the innovative program relies on the first, internationally,” Handbook of Personalized Medicine” (Precision Medicine), published in 2014 by Associate Professor Ioannis S. Vizirianakis and entitled "Handbook of Personalized Medicine: Advances in Nanotechnology, Drug Delivery and Therapy". |
