DescriptionIn the context of the international competition Open Education Challenge 2014 (http://openeducationchallenge.eu/) the proposal "Cubes Coding" by Dr Theodosios Sapounidis has been granded a distinguished award. "Cubes coding" is based on Dr Sapounidis' doctoral thesis and concerns the development of a tangible interface ("cubes") as a robot programming interface to be used by small children (supervising committee: asst. Prof Demetriadis, Prof. Vlahavas, assc. Prof. Basileiadis). The proposal has been included in the best 9 proposals from a pool of more than 600 proposals submitted to the competition from 77 countries worldwide. "Cubes coding" was also granded initial funding as a support toward the development of a relevant business plan.
