DescriptionMr. Christos Vagionas, PhD candidate in the field of Optical Communications, has been awarded the very prestigious IEEE Photonics Society Graduate Student Fellowship 2016. This fellowship is annually awarded to 10 outstanding graduate students world-wide pursuing graduate education within the Society field of interest. Mr. Vagionas was awarded the fellowship for his work on optical RAM memories with wavelength division multiplexing. It is the second time that a student from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki receives this prestigious award and only the third time for a student from a Greek University.
