Α degree awarded by a Greek public University or by a recognized foreign Institution of equivalent status or by a Technological Education Institute is required. Applicants should provide evidence of proficiency in English at least at C1 level. Τhey also need to succeed in all entry requirements, i.e. oral and/or written exams and/or interviews as well as in the overall evaluation of their application.
For the MA in English and American Studies, postgraduate students need to attend and successfully complete 4 courses, one of which is a compulsory course and three are elective courses. Each course corresponds to 15 ECTS. Postgraduate students also need to write a diploma thesis (30 ECTS). The total number of credits (ECTS) required for the MA is 90 (1ECTS=27,5 student work load hours).Compliance with the ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) regulations (Ministerial Decision no Φ5/89656/β3, art. 1-3, Hellenic Government Gazette no 466/2007/B).
The MA in English and American Studies aims at giving the opportunity to students to look into the relation between literary texts and the society, history, politics and culture in which they belong; to lead them into a deeper knowledge and understanding of the range of literary / cultural production and theoretical approaches; to train them to participate in a creative and critical dialogue with various texts from different periods and different Anglophone cultures

Professional qualification is not applicable for the public or private sector.
The qualification allows access to doctoral studies.
A scale of 1 to 10 applies to the marks of each subject in the Hellenic Higher Education. The grading scheme is as follows in the qualification Ptychion (Ministerial Decision no Φ.1231/Β1/425 art.60, Hellenic Government Gazette no 1099/2000/B):

Λίαν Καλώς (Lian Kalos) Very Good: 6.50- 8.49
Καλώς (Kalos) Good: 6.00-6.49
Ανεπιτυχώς (Anepitichos) Fail: 0-5,99
Minimum passing grade: 6
