In the MSc Food Science and Nutrition (Hellenic Government Gazette no 4086/Β/18-9-2018) may apply graduates of the following departments: Agriculture, Food Science, Chemistry, Veterinary, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biotechnology, and other relevant Departments of Greek Universities or relevant recognized Universities from abroad. The procedures for the candidateselection are described in the Internal Regulation of the MSc (approval of regulation by the senate of AUTh (2958/12 & 13-4-2018).
The aim of the Postgraduate Program is the promotion of the science of Agriculture, in the field of Food Science and Nutrition. The purpose of the Master of Science (MSc) in Food Science and Nutrition is to contribute on the expansion of knowledge in the field of Food Science and Nutrition and also to create new professional outlets for graduates of the Department of Agriculture and other related Departments, providing the opportunity to continue their studies in Greece and avoiding the brain draining. An additional goal is to provide useful and up-to-date knowledge to graduates who are already professionally engaged in companies and industries in the field of food, in order to expand and upgrade their knowledge. Specifically, the present MSc, is designed to meet the needs of food industries. The graduates may be employed by a government agency (public audit bodies), academia or other organizations (educational institutions, research centers, etc.). Finally, the graduates who wish to continue their studies, have the opportunity to prepare a doctoral dissertation under the supervision of the lectures of MSc.
This MSc will be helpful to find a job as a qualified personnel and for professional development.

Three (3) semesters and summer period, 105 ECTS in total.
Winter (1st semester) and the autumn (2nd semester) semester correspond to 30 ECTS each (Hellenic Government Gazette no 1466/2007/Β, art. 1-3), while in the summer period corresponds 15 ECTS and in the winter (3rd semester) semester 30 ECTS.
Full-time. The postgraduate students have the right to postpone of their studies for a maximum of two semester.
