To graduate from the School of Early Childhood Education, students are required to attend and successfully complete the following types of courses, compulsory and compulsory elective courses. Additionally, the students can attend and successfully complete optional courses. Evaluation can be either oral, written or in an assignment form.
The Undergraduate Studies Program (USP) provided by the School of Early Childhood Education is interdisciplinary in nature and aims at preparing both, early childhood educators as well as specialists in the field of pedagogy and education.
Through the learning outcomes the USP intends to enable graduates to acquire the essential knowledge and competencies in order to promote the sciences of education, adapt to the scientific and educational changes and contribute, through research, to the evolution and modern applications of these sciences.
Upon successful completion of the programme requirements, the graduate will be able to:
·Design programs based on an in-depth understanding of child development.
·Use various teaching methods and media depending on childrenneeds individual characteristics and interests.
·Implement as well as study critically and evaluate early childhood curricula.
·Recognize and respects diversity.
·Work independently or in groups in international and interdisciplinary contexts.
·Communicate with children, colleagues, families and the wider community.
·Create and maintain safe and healthy learning environments. Apply cognitive and meta-cognitive learning strategies.
·Express creativity in multiple and diverse fields.
·Conduct research in issues related with the development, care and education of children.
Consequently, the graduates of the School of Early Childhood Education, acquire competencies related with offering services in early childhood education formal and non-formal. Moreover, they are capable of designing and implementing educational research.
Graduates of the School of Early Childhood Education, in addition to the knowledge and skills of their discipline and profession, learn to communicate in a foreign language and use ICT technologies.
