Course Content (Syllabus)
Authentic reading texts followed by comprehension and vocabulary activities, language exercises, and discussion questions. The texts touch upon various fields of theatre, drama and performance studies and are taken from a wide variety of sources. Indicative titles of units: The infinite variety of theatre, Technical definitions, The play text and the performance text, What’s on?, Physical theatre, The theatre of the oppressed, Performance spaces, Stage terms, Reading texts, Reading for performance, Antigone: An Example of Greek Tragedy, Waiting for Godot, Translations.
