Prerequisites
General Prerequisites
The students for postgraduate studies must have a good knowledge of the Balkan History. Besides, basic knowledge of one Balkan langunge is desirable.
Learning Outcomes
The students grapple with the evaluation of sources. I pay attention to the following points: 1)The way of thinking of the students in the relationship cause-result. The students have to ask questions by themselves and give the appropriate logical responses or assumptions, looking for evidence. 2) The thesis must be properly structured, based on documents and analysis. 3 The thesis can reflect any level of original thinking or contribution 4. The bibliographic references must be properly cited. The main purpose is το help the students to get the skills and qualifications to meet the challenges of the postgraduate dissertation. In the most cases this goal is reached.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The Balkans during the Second World War.
1. Questions of Philosophy and Methodology of History. Introduction to research into the documents from diplomatic records.
2, 3, 4.
The students get acquainted with the analysis and the interpretation of documents regarding the Balkans during the Second Wold War. Approach to the subject through historical evidence
5. Visit to Archives.
6-13. The students present their papers. Critical remarks and discussion.
