Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course the students:
1) will have become familiar with the cosmotheology of classical Greek philosophers;
2) will be able to detect and interpret statements related to cosmotheology in ancient philosophical texts.

Course Content (Syllabus)
In this seminar, we will explore and explain the conception of God as nous (Reason, Intelligence) and as noêsis noêseôs (self-intelligizing Intelligence) in Plato and Aristotle respectively. The seminar will be based on an anthology of texts from the Platonic dialogues Phaedo, Republic, Sophist, Statesman, Philebus, Timaeus and Laws, and from the Aristotelian treatises Nicomachean Ethics books I and X, On the Soul book III, Physics book VIII, and Metaphysics book XII.
