Course Content (Syllabus)
The graduate seminar offers a survey of the research branch ‘Gender Studies’ in literature and of its specific application to the study of Attic Greek tragedy and comedy. Several dramas of Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides and Aristophanes become the focus of thorough investigation, and students work on short assignments and participate in the dialogue in class. Through the wide thematic range covered by the seminar, the students choose a relevant topic for their final essay, which they present in class.
