Learning Outcomes
Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to understand pedagogic issues found in internet articles. They will be able to transfer their skills related to the teaching of English as a Second Language to the teaching of German as a Second or Foreign Language. Lastly, this course will enable students to understand these texts because they will have studied the stylistic choices (both form and content) involved in such texts.

Course Content (Syllabus)
In this course, English III, usually taught in the fall semester, students come into contact with pedagogical issues that concern teachers of languages, especially those teaching English as A Second Language (ESL). The articles used in class are a page or two long and can be found on the internet. Such articles enable students of German Philology to study English ESL terminology and familiarize themselves with the techniques used in class to broach pedagogical issues. Both issues and terminology are easily transferrable across languages, from English into German. The course utilizes authentic texts to also teach students form and content appropriate to this literature
