Learning Outcomes
After the competion of the course, the students will:
1. Understand the structure and operation of the basic computer processing and memory circuits.
2. Be able to design at transistor level basic circuits existing inside a computer.
3. Be able to use the SPICE programming language and environment and test the outcome.
4. understand the manufactoring technology of the modern microelectronic circuits and follow the progress of this technology.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Basic semiconductor devices principles and MOSFET operation theory. CMOS devices and CMOS inverter characteristics. Principles of microelectronic device technology and CMOS VLSI design. Basic circuits: Design and technology at transistor level, performance. Memory devices and circuits (ROM, DRAM, SRAM). Circuit design using SPICE.
