Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction to Educational Technology. Computer Aided Learning, Computer Based Training, Web Based Training, e-Learning. Leanring Theories (Behaviorism, Constructivism, Social Constructivism). (a) Learning as Information Processing and Practice (Multiple Representations & Multimedia Learning, Interactive Multimedia, Educational Hymermedia, Instructional Design Models). (b) Learning through Inquiry and Construction (Constructivist learning theories, Interaction and Cognitive Tools, Simulations, Microworlds, Modellers). Inquiry learning. (c) Learning through Communication and Collaboration (Socio-cognitive learning theories. Collaborative learning. (d) Lab work: Introduction to multimedia programming with Adobe Flash (alternatively Visual Basic).
