Course Content (Syllabus)
«Architecture can become a way of thinking about anything; a discipline that represents relationships, proportions, connections, effects, the diagram of everything »- Rem Koolhaas
«To change something build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete» - R. Buckminster Fuller
The studio entitled «Fixes, Fluxes, Futures» aims at designing and formulating creative proposals and solutions that address multi-level problems in which architectural thinking and its ability to address complex design problems plays a primary role.
Through the use of mediums, tools, practices and methodologies of Architectural Design, Strategic Design, Service Design and Design Thinking, the studio «Fixes, Fluxes, Futures», aims at designing and organizing innovative proposals of spaces and infrastructures, experiences and services that radically change the way in which specific categories of users their needs, wishes and multiple behaviors associated with them, are addressed.
In the studio “Fixes, Fluxes, Futures” a specific methodology will be followed that will include: different stages of research and planning, individual and team work, interdisciplinary approaches and creative tools for analysis and synthesis coming from different fields of research. The participants will work collectively in larger groups during some stages of the course and individually or in groups of two in other stages. At the end of each stage there will be presentations and discussions.
The results of the workshop will be presented in an exhibition.
