Upon completion of the course students will be able:
to examine Literature in its engagement with historical questions.
to determine approaches and organize readings in major writers and texts of the Modern Greek Literature. More specifically, in the writers in Thessaloniki.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Through the texts of G. Ioannou, Nikou Bakola, Ntinou Christanopoulou, Perikli Sfiridi, Toli Kazantzi, the self is examined as comes from the couple: pain of history/autobiography. More specifically, since the texts are reffering to various political which can derive from plentiful reasons (personal, family-related, social, economical, political), the ways in which identities are created in different historical or cultural backgrounds is examined.
