Introduction - Classic and modern definition of the gene-Transcription units- Molecular structure of chromosomes (prokaryotic-eukaryotic) - Molecular genetics of yeast - Yeast Artificial Chromosomes (YACs) - Restriction mapping- Cloning Vectors - Genetic libraries - Modern Genetic Engineering Techniques (DNA, RNA, proteins) - The -OMIC technology: Genomics, Proteomics, Metabolomics - Applications of the recombinant DNA technology.
