Learning Outcomes
The goal of this course is to provide the theoretical foundations and the practical applications for the development of rehabilitation programs for patients with chronic diseases. The beneficial effects, the adaptations and the probable risks from exercise training in chronic patients will also be described. Finally presented will be the general principles and approaches to managing rehabilitation programs.

Course Content (Syllabus)
1. Organizing and managing a rehabilitation center for patients with chronic diseases 2. Patient assessment (Inpatient-Outpatient Rehabilitation) (selection, defining the patient population, risk stratification, assessing the results) 3. Cardiac diseases - common symptoms and disorders during exercise training - Evaluation of functional capacity in cardiac patients 4. Rehabilitation programs for patients with coronary artery disease 5. Rehabilitation programs for patients with congestive heart failure 6. Rehabilitation programs for patients with hypertension 7. Rehabilitation programs for patients with obesity 8. Rehabilitation programs for patients with diabetes mellitus 9. End stage renal disease - common symptoms- possible disorders during training 10. Rehabilitation programs for patients with end-stage renal disease 11. Rehabilitation programs for patients with osteoporosis 12. Exercise training for patients with pulmonary diseases 13. Rehabilitation programs for patients with neurological problems (Parkisnon disease- multiple sclerosis)
