Learning Outcomes
The dental student after the successful completion of the Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology Course will obtain the necessary knowledge of the diseases of oral and maxillofacial region , which are relevant with aetiopathogenesis, epidemiology, clinical signs and symptoms,histopathological and laboratory findings, differential and final diagnosis, prognosis and complications and finally the choice of treatment.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology is the discipline of dentistry concerned with the oral health care of medically complex patients--including the diagnosis and management of medical conditions that affect the oral and maxillofacial region. Furthermore Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology represents the dental specialty that not only identifies and manages diseases affecting the oral and maxillofacial regions but in the same time, investigates the causes, processes and effects of these diseases. The Department of Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology deals with patients whose underlying medical condition affect oral health and delivery of dental care. Our staff collaborate with other dental and medical professionals to advance oral health care.
