Course Content (Syllabus)
Man’s place in nature. What is Anthropology? Primate origins, evolution and taxonomy. Hominid origins. The evolution of the genus Homo. Origins of the modern Humans. Human biology, Characteristics of living humans. Anthropometrics.
Laboratory exercises:
Cranial and skeletal morphometrics.Age and sex determination from skeletal remains. Anthropometrics I: Head. Anthropometrics II: Body.
Outdoor excercises:
1.Petralona cave 2. Prehistorical Lake settlement-Dispilio, Kastoria.
