Course Content (Syllabus)
Historical development of Cypriot Law. The orientation of the Law in the Republic of Cyprus. The multiplicity of legal influences in Cypriot Law. The language problem. Sources and methods of Cypriot Law. Cypriot Constitutional Law History. The judiciary control of constitutionality of Statute Laws. The binding force of English judicial decisions. The Case-law in Cypriot Law. Analysis of Cypriot judicial decisions (Mustafa Ibrahim etc.). The System of Rendering Justice. Recent amendments of family law. Decisions of the European Court of Human Rights with regard to Cyprus. Cypriot legal institutions compared to the Greek equivalent ones.
