Course Content (Syllabus)
Course description : Τhere are presented and analyzed the main morphological issues and literary genres of Patristic literature, identifying the sources and historical development thereof. 1. Introduction to the main literary features of patristic texts and their correlation with the secular literature 2. Introduction to the morphological characteristics of Christian literature. 3. Morphology of patristic literature ( I) : Exposition. ( II ): Questions and Answers. 4. Morphology of patristic literature ( III ) : Dialogues. ( IV ): Detection or Antirrhesis. 5. Morphology of patristic literature (V): Chapters (Kephalaia). 6. Literary genres of patristic works ( I) : The "biblical" genres ( Gospels, Acts, Epistles, Revelation). 7. Literary genres of patristic works ( II ) : Dogmatic works . 8. Literary genres of patristic works ( III ) : Exegetical works . 9. Literary genres of patristic works ( IV ) : Speeches and Enkomia. 10. Literary genres of patristic works (V): Liturgical Works . 11. Literary genres of patristic works (VI): Hymnography and ecclesiastical poetry . 12. Literary genres of patristic works VII): Historiography and Chronography. 13. Literary genres of patristic works (VIII): Canonical and Institutional texts.
