Interfacial chemistry, thermodynamics of interfaces. Surface tension, methods for measuring surface tension. Monolayers. Surfactants. Colloidal structures in surfactant solutions, micelles, (structure, critical micellar concentration, aggregation number, solubilization, importance of micelles in industrial and biological treatments). Stability of colloidal dispersions (DLVO theory, kinetics of coagulation) electrokinetic phenomena and measurement of ζ(zeta)-potential. Application of phase diagrams in colloids.
